Shopping centre fire sparks evacuation
Shoppers were evacuated from the Westfield Shopping Centre at Strathpine this morning following a small electrical fire in the home maker centre.
Two Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) trucks were sent to shopping centre after an automatic alarm was set off, but arrived to find a security guard had extinguished the blaze.
The blaze began in an electrical transformer but was quickly contained, a QFRS spokeswoman said.
The centre was evacuated as a precaution.
