Congratulations to everyone who graduated from the Certificate ii in Asset Maintenance (Fire Protection Equipment) that DELTRA Australia ran in December. This course was great fun for both the trainers and the students as we covered a variety of theory and practical subjects. Topics covered included Workplace Health & Safety, Correct Manual Handling, Identifying Fire Protection Equipment, Use of Portable Fire Fighting Equipment, Improving Productivity & Providing Quality Client Service.
This course also covered inspection, installation, testing and maintenance of a variety of Fire Suppression Equipment including Extinguishers, Fire Hose Reels, Smoke Alarms, Fire Blankets, Hydrants and Lay Flat Hoses.
The relevant Australian Standards were also referenced extensively, ensuring that our students are up to date with the latest developments in the Fire Protection Industry.
Our participants came from a variety of locations including Cairns, Townsville, Canberra and Brisbane.
For those of you who didn't know, this course is required for the Open License Class (Fire Fighting Appliances) through the Queensland Building Services Authority.
